Jõhvi Promenade

For Jõhvi in Estonia, we developed the Cranberry urban lighting and furniture series for the town centre. Commissioned by Jõhvi Parish, the concept is based on a wordplay between the town name Jõhvi and the Estonian word jõhvikas (cranberry), forming the basis for a unified lighting and street furniture design.

The Cranberry street lights take their form from the stem and berry of the cranberry plant. The luminaires feature a vertical pole with spherical elements that reflect light back toward the ground through integrated aluminium reflectors, providing clear pedestrian lighting while introducing a sculptural presence in the public space.

Complementing the lighting, the Cranberry outdoor furniture includes compact illuminated seating elements inspired by the shape of the berry. The chairs are manufactured from rotomolded polyethylene, making them durable, vandal-resistant, and easy to maintain. Translucent illuminated versions add color and atmosphere to the surrounding public space.
