Tallinn Creative Hub

The Kultuurikatel building in Tallinn was completed in 1913 as the city’s first municipal power station. After decades of inactivity, the industrial structure reopened in 2015 as a renovated creative and event centre. As part of the renovation, we designed the Insulator wall light fixture, inspired by the electrical insulators historically used in power infrastructure. The luminaire references the building’s industrial heritage while providing contemporary architectural wall lighting.

The Insulator wall luminaire is mounted to the wall with a custom bracket and is available in two configurations: one where the fixture rests on the mount and another where it hangs below it. The body is manufactured from rotomolded polyethylene and houses an IP67-rated LED light source. The semi-transparent material diffuses light evenly while offering durability and UV resistance, ensuring reliable performance in demanding architectural environments.
