Rotor illuminated seating and landscape lighting at Luunja Harbour, Estonia

Luunja Harbour

At Luunja Harbour on the Emajõgi River in southern Estonia, we chose Rotor, an outdoor illuminated bench from our catalogue. Here it works as three things at once: a place to sit, a low source of light, and a landmark that nods to the harbour.

Rotor takes its name and its shape from a ship’s propeller. Curved seating pods radiate from a central hub, with soft ambient light held low in the form. By day the illuminated bench reads as sculpture; after dark it becomes a pool of light.

We manufacture the body from semi-transparent polyethylene, rotomoulded into a single impact-resistant, vandal-resistant shell. It suits an exposed setting like the harbour at Luunja.

The seating surface is synthetic teak over waterproof plywood, giving the warmth of timber with marine-grade resistance to moisture and wear. As illuminated outdoor seating on a working waterfront, Rotor is built for long service with little upkeep. The integrated LED elements stay accessible for maintenance, and each unit anchors securely through its base.

Rotor belongs to un-like’s range of outdoor illuminated benches, not to this harbour alone. The same bench can light a promenade, a quay, or a park elsewhere. See more of our illuminated furniture.
