Old Jewish Cemetery Park

Oak Tree is a sculptural outdoor luminaire installation we designed for the Old Jewish Cemetery Park in Tallinn, commissioned by the Tallinn City Centre Government. The project enhances the public landscape by combining cultural heritage with contemporary urban lighting, drawing inspiration from the oak tree as a symbol of memory and continuity rooted in Jewish tradition.

We developed the custom street luminaires as sculptural elements integrated into the park environment. The structures are manufactured from galvanized, powder-coated steel with a COR-TEN–like finish, ensuring durability while visually blending into the surrounding landscape. Metal leaves incorporate integrated IP66-rated LED fixtures, providing efficient, glare-controlled illumination for pedestrian areas throughout the park.

To ensure long-term adaptability, we equipped the lighting system with Zhaga connectors, enabling integration with modern smart outdoor lighting infrastructure. This approach allows the installation to remain technologically flexible while preserving the historic character and atmosphere of the memorial site.
