The Lighthouse is a durable, weatherproof, and UV-resistant public space light installation, that illuminates the Sillamäe beach promenade in Estonia. The rotomolded outdoor lighting design was crafted in collaboration with Foon OÜ architects and construction company Nordecon AS.
This distinctive and durable lighting fixture serves as a guiding light for pedestrians along the seaside promenade, casting a gentle and atmospheric glow amidst the twilight. A sleek polyethylene (PE) sphere produced in rotational molding technology. It measures 800mm in diameter and proudly sits atop a sturdy concrete pedestal.
The benefit of using cutting-edge rotational molding technology is that the PE (Polyethylene) sphere boasts exceptional durability against harsh weather and UV rays, ensuring it remains free from corrosion and brittleness in any climate. Polyethylene’s chemical resistance makes it compatible with a variety of cleaning solutions, keeping it looking pristine and spotless for years to come.
The luminaire is powered by an energy-efficient LED light source that is integrated into the concrete pedestal.
